Smith Myers ARTEMIS To Offer Modular Payload Compliance, Enabling Seamless Integration Across Compatible UAV and Ground Systems

Biggleswade, UK and APSCON Booth 726, Ft. Lauderdale, USA – 15 July 2026 – Smith Myers Communications Ltd., the world’s first fully airborne-qualified Mobile Phone Detection and Location System (MPDLS) provider, today announced plans to offer its ARTEMIS airborne cellular detection and geolocation system in a Modular Payload compliant configuration, enabling seamless plug-and-play integration with compatible Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and other unmanned systems.

The new configuration is designed to align with the Modular Payload standard developed by the U.S. Department of Defense to promote interoperability, flexibility, and rapid technology integration across defense systems. The capability will enable ARTEMIS to be deployed on a wider range of compatible platforms with minimal integration effort.

This enhancement will significantly expand deployment options for defense, security, emergency response, and search-and-rescue organizations seeking to leverage proven cellular detection and geolocation capabilities helping operators extend operational reach, improve situational awareness, and reduce risk to personnel operating in hazardous, remote, or otherwise inaccessible environments.

“Providing ARTEMIS in a Modular Payload compliant configuration will significantly broaden the ways organizations can deploy this critical capability,” said Andrew Munro, Managing Director of Smith Myers Communications. “Operators will be able to integrate ARTEMIS more quickly and cost-effectively across a wider range of platforms, accelerating deployment while benefiting from the system’s proven ability to detect and geolocate mobile devices in support of mission-critical operations.”

The new offering reflects Smith Myers’ ongoing commitment to delivering interoperable, mission-ready technologies that help organizations locate people faster, make more informed decisions, and conduct operations more safely and effectively.
